Dr. Hernandez has been practicing dentistry since 1984. She earned her DMD degree from the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry where she graduated top of her class and also served on the faculty. In 1987, she received her Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hernandez owned the Hernandez Dental Clinic in the Philippines where she practiced orthodontics for 20 years.

Dr. Hernandez joined Apple in 2010. She is fluent in English and Tagalog. Her leisure time activities include reading, walking, and traveling.
