Dr. Pearson received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors
in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1976.
He began a career designing off-shore oil well platforms in
New Orleans but found it unsatisfying to never see the fruits of
his labor.
Fortunately, a good friend, who happened to be an orthodontist
in New Orleans, enlightened Dr. Pearson on another career that
involved design, engineering and metal. Plus, this career also
had the advantage of seeing the results of his work – what
a wonderful reward at the end of a job well done!
Dr. Pearson enrolled at Louisiana State University Dental School
in New Orleans, from which he graduated at the top of his class
in 1984, with honors including the prestigious Chancellor’s
Award. From there, he spent an additional two years in orthodontic
residency.
Believing that learning never ends, Dr. Pearson attends national
conferences and study group meetings each year to continue to hone
his skills and be kept up to date on all of the latest techniques
and appliances. He is also a member of the Edward Angle Society,
a prestigious organization of top orthodontists from around the
country.
Dr. Pearson and his wife, Judy, live in Tempe with their dog,
Chili. Their oldest son is married and in the Air Force, stationed
with his wife and daughter at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix. Their
second son is a student at the University of Arizona studying Electrical
Engineering.
So what does the mild-mannered orthodontist do in his spare time? All
manner of exciting and daring activities!
Dr. Pearson loves the outdoors, which he and wife Judy enjoy while
cruising the highways and byways on their motorcycle. For an up-close and personal look at nature, they switch to dirt bikes and
camping. And when the ocean calls, they view its beauty by snorkeling
and diving.
The quieter side of Dr. Pearson enjoys reading a wide variety
of books, fiction and nonfiction alike. And sometimes a good movie
is the perfect way to relax after a fast paced week of creating
beautiful smiles!
