Emeritus
Dr. Rankine graduated from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1971 and joined the U.S. Army that same year. In 1979, he received his certificate in pediatric dentistry from New York University. He completed his certificate of orthodontics and a master’s degree at the Harvard School of Medicine in 1982.
For seventeen years, Dr. Rankine taught orthodontics at LSU School of Dentistry and the University of Texas School of Dentistry in San Antonio. He has over fifty publications and abstracts in orthodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a co-founder of the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics and a member of numerous professional organizations. He joined Apple Orthodontix in 2000.
Dr. Rankine recently retired from the Army Reserve after thirty-four years of service. He is an active member of the First Methodist Church of Arlington.
