Falling housing prices, rising consumer debt and declining retail sales. We all know why we’re worrying more and enjoying less. This tough economy has us all trying to get smarter about protecting what we still have and avoiding future losses. Well, that not only makes good economic sense, it’s a strategy that can also protect your health and save you money in the long run.

Cutting back on health care can be a very risky decision. It may not only impact your health, but can lead to greater costs down the road when minor health concerns become major health issues. So take stock of your health. Refrain from getting caught up in the doom-and-gloom economic hype. Remain calm and stay focused. Continue to watch your diet and exercise to help stave off disease. Follow through with recommended medical screenings, medications and dental exams. Preventative measures may cost you now, but will pay great dividends in the long run.
